No. of Scholarships

There are 55 scholarships for India. ( 22 for one year or two year Master degree course and 33 for three year PhD course.)

Level

These scholarships will be awarded for studies leading to either a) One year Master's or equivalent degree or one year of clinical training in Medicine or Dentistry OR b) A three-year doctoral or equivalent degree. Candidates who have already completed PhD or about to complete are unlikely to be considered.

Duration

Two years for pre-doctoral research extending to a third year leading to PhD. One year for post-doctoral research.

Eligibility

a) For Master's degree: One must have completed Bachelors degree in one of the subject fields indicated securing 55% or above marks in Humanities and Social Science group and 60% or above in Medicine, Engineering & Technology, Science & Agricultural group. Candidates should give a one page academic justification for pursuing Master degree course in UK.

b) For PhD: Degree in one of the subject fields indicated securing 55% or above marks in Humanities & Social Science group and 60% or above marks in Medicine, Engineering and Technology, Science & Agriculture group with two years teaching / research or practical experience after obtaining post-graduate degree relating to the opted field of study as on 31st October for the following year of application.

Age limit

34 years (on 30 September). 36 years for SC/ ST candidates. Preference given to candidates below 30 years.

Value

Airfares, tuition fees, maintenance allowance of 507 pounds per month and other allowances.
