Remuneration

In India, an average vet makes anything between Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000 per month. This depends upon the kind of practice and the animals that are treated. As an Assistant Professor, a vet can earn a salary over Rs 4,000, a livestock development officer may also get a similar start, and a successful private practitioner's income may easily run into five figures, given the required ability and perseverance.

Rewards

For someone who loves animals, the greatest satisfaction comes from alleviating the pain of an animal. Moreover, with increasing interest in the rearing of pets, this field is becoming very lucrative.
