Remuneration

Initial remuneration in the corporate sector for candidates from the IITs is in the range of Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 per month, Rs 4,500 to Rs 6,000 for B.Sc., B.Tech. graduates from other universities, and Rs 5,000 and above for research scholars, working in research institutes.

PRESSURES

Since the work done by biotechnologists is mainly research oriented, the inability to arrive at the desired results can at times prove quite frustrating. Moreover, biotechnologists have to spend a lot of time in laboratories for purposes of research and experimentation.

REWARDS

Breakthroughs in research, and new and exciting discoveries after months (often years) of research and hard work can provide much job satisfaction.
