JUNIOR TRANSLATORS' EXAM.
 

This examination is held once a year, generally in the month of March. The blank application forms are published in the Employment News generally in the month of November of the previous year. The last date for submission of applications is generally 2nd week of December of the year.

Initial Pay: 

About Rs. 6000 in the scale of Rs. 5000-150-8000.

Examination Fee: 


Rs. 50/- (Rs. Fifty only). No fee for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, etc.

Age Limits: 


Not exceeding 28 years on the first August of the year of examination.

Educational Qualifications:


Master's degree in English/Hindi with Hindi/English as compulsory and elective subjects at degree level. or Bachelor's degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective).

Scheme of Examination: 


The papers to be set in the written examination, the maximum marks allotted to each paper and the duration of each paper will be as under:

Syllabus:


Paper I (Objective Type)


The questions will be designed to test the candidate's understanding of the language and correct use of words, phrases and idioms, ability to write language correctly, precisely and effectively.

Paper II (Conventional Type)


The paper will contain four passages-two passages from Hindi to English and two passages for translation from English to Hindi, which will test the candidate's translation skills and their ability to write the two languages correctly, precisely and effectively.
