The examination is held once a year by the different divisional offices of the Life Insurance Corporation for recruitment to the post of Clerical Assistants.
Educational Qualifications:
(a) Assistants:
· Graduate of a recognized University; or
· H.S.C. (Standard XII of 10+2+3 pattern) with at least 60% marks in aggregate or
· A pass in L.I.C. Course of CBSE (Standard XII of 10 + 2 + 3 pattern).
(b) Typists:
· Graduate of a recognized University; or
· H.S.C. (Standard XII of 10 + 2 + 3 pattern) with at least 55% marks in the aggregate; or
· A pass in L.I.C. Vocational Course CBSE (Standard XII of 10+2+3 pattern);
· A speed of typing 40 words per minute in English or 25 words' per minute in Hindi.
(c) Stenographers:
· Graduate of a recognized University; or
· H.S.C. (Standard XII of 10 + 2 + 3 pattern) at least 55% marks in aggregate; or
· A pass in LIC Vocational Course (Standard XII of 10 + 2 + 3 pattern);
· A speed of at least 100 words per minute in English shorthand and a speed of 40 words per minute in English typing or a speed of 80 words per minute in Hindi shorthand and a speed of 25 words per minute in Hindi typing.
Age:
A candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and not attained the age of 28 years on the first day of the October of the year in which examination is held.
The upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and such other categories of persons as may from time to time be notified in this behalf.
Initial Pay:
About Rs. 4000 in the scale of Rs. 1950-5500.
Plan of the Examination:
The subjects of the written test, time allowed and the maximum marks for each paper will be as under:

N.B. (i) The candidate is required to pass in each of the Tests separately.
(ii) The merit order of the candidates will be decided by the aggregate score in Paper I. (iii) Candidates, who pass in each test separately and rank sufficiently high in the
merit list, would be called for personal interview/trade test (wherever applicable).
(iv) Final Selection will be on the basis of the overall performance in the written test, Trade Test (where applicable) and the interview.
