Qualifications: Degree.

Age: 19-25 years. Relaxable for SC/ST by 5 years.

Physical

Male: Height: 165 cms. Chest: 81-86 cms. Weight: 50 kg. or according to height.
Female: Height: 157 cms. Weight: according to height but not less than 46 kg.

Subjects for Examination

The selection process consists of three parts:

Part 1: Written examination (300 marks).

Paper I: (200 marks).

· General Awareness
· General lntelligence and Reasoning 
· Numerical Ability 

Paper- II: (100 marks).

· Essay: In Hindi or English
· Precise writing (English)
· Comprehension of a given passage in English


Part-II: Physical Efficiency Test:

Men Women
      
100 m race.
800 m race.
Long Jump (3 chances).
High Jump (3 chances).
Shot Put (7.26 Kg) (3 chances)
16 sec.
3 mins.
3.50 m.
1.05 m.
4.50 m.
18 sec.
4 mins.
3 m.
0.90 m.
Not for Women

(Failure even in one item of this test will amount to disqualification).

Part III:

Candidates who qualify in the written test are called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The number of candidates to be called for Physical Efficiency Test is decided by the Government of India. The candidates who qualify in the PET are required to appear for interview and medical examination on the following day. 

The final merit-list holders are appointed to the various organizations (BSF/CRPF/ITBP) as per the availability of posts, keeping in view the preference stated by the candidates. The candidate's choice may or may not always be acceded to. 

The decision of the Special Selection Board shall be final. Success in the examinations and interview does not confer any right to appointment, unless Government is satisfied after medical examination and such enquiry as may be considered necessary, that the candidate is suitable in all respects for appointment to the Service! Post.

Pay Scale: Rs. 8,000-13,500
